Learn how to create a silver statement ring that captures the depth and luster of semi-precious stones in fine silver metal clay! This three-day Masterclass features Wanaree Tanner's methods for creating an Art Clay Silver ring to fit a non-fireable stone using her complete line of Signature Die Cut Tools and Die Cut Rollers.

Techniques include: -

  • Ring mandrel and stone setting customizations to compensate for metal clay shrinkage, wet clay methods for seamless construction
  • Appliquing and layering metal clay elements
  • Granulation elements in precision sizing
  • Create vividly detailed bezel settings using any 56 Die Cut Tool designs or 12 Die Cut Roller designs.

Students will have the Signature Tools provided for use during the class.

Materials: All of Wanaree's die-cut tools and die-cut rollers will be available for use during class and for purchase at the time of class.

Please bring or purchase before class:

  • 50g of Art Clay Silver Clay
  • PMC kits found in our B Golden Jewelry School Tool store (online or in person).
  • Bring a semi-precious cabochon stone of choice or purchase from a selection of High Profile Sustainable Stones the day of class. These stones were individually collected and hand cut in Thailand by Wanaree and Steve Tieken.

Please limit stone sizes to no more 95mm measured around. We will also send a detailed list of tools with links after registration (give 3 - 5 business days) if you choose to purchase tools independently.

Prerequisites: Some experience with Precious Metal Clay is recommended, but not necessary.
