In this intensive 2-day workshop led by Visiting Instructor Agnes Seebass, you'll acquire valuable skills to transform your metalwork into stunning, one-of-a-kind creations.

  • Master Multiple Riveting Techniques: Learn how to seamlessly join metal components using simple rivets, tube rivets, movable rivets, and decorative rivets, adding both functionality and visual appeal to your work.
  • Create Captivating Textures: Discover how to use a rolling mill, hammers, and punches to imprint unique textures onto your metal pieces, giving them depth and personality.
  • Apply the Ancient Art of Keum-Boo: Learn the centuries-old Korean technique of Keum-Boo, bonding gold leaf to silver to create exquisite accents and elevate the value of your pieces.
  • Achieve Professional Finishes: Perfect the final touches of your creations with expert polishing and finishing techniques, ensuring a flawless and refined appearance.

Structured Learning for Maximum Growth:

  • Day 1: Focus on cold connection techniques and texturizing, experiment with design ideas by adding volume and 3 dimensionality to your pieces, and receive personalized guidance from Agnes.
  • Day 2: Agnes will give guidance for students to start crafting their unique designs. Dive deep into Keum-Boo application, including depletion gilding, and bring your unique designs to life with expert instruction and support.

Prerequisites: Previous sawing and soldering experience is required for this intermediate-level class.

Kit Fees: Metal will be weighed and the cost will be calculated at the end of class. Keum-boo will also be available for purchase.
