Combo Metalsmithing & Lapidary Class

Want to learn how to make a custom piece of jewelry from start to finish? Great! In this combination class, learn both Lapidary & Metalsmithing to create a unique ring or pendant.

You will begin by cutting, shaping, and polishing a stone into a cabochon. Then you will bezel set that cabochon into a sterling silver ring or pendant using various skills, including filing, sizing, and soldering. Our instructor will guide you from beginning to end in this skill-building class.

Skills:

• Cutting and shaping a stone on the lapidary machines
• Designing a pendant or ring including your hand-cut stone
• Bezel setting and basic stone setting Soldering and metalsmithing tips
• Polishing and patinas

Materials: We have an excellent selection of stone or slab and sterling silver available for purchase at class time, or bring in your own!

Prerequisites - an excellent class for beginners! Class time includes the use of tools and equipment related to the techniques.
